2012 New Acquisitions

The Penn Museum stewards one of the largest and earliest university-assembled collections of cultural material in the world.  While many objects came from excavations or are acquired during anthropological research, others are donated, purchased, or exchanged.  The collection continues to grow and plays an essential role in supporting the Museum's mission to engage the public in an ongoing dialogue about our shared human experience.
