Description | Dance collar or neck ornament with beaded designs. The collar is a horizontal rectangle, slightly curved upward in the center, made from red wool with a black border. The black border has mostly worn away, revealing brown cloth underneath. The collar has a beaded, floral design in white, dark blue, light blue, yellow, and green beads. The ends of the collar have remnants of metal clasps that would secure it to the wearer's neck. A semicircular ornament hangs from the collar made from the same red and black cloth. The hanging ornament has a beaded design of a bird over a large animal face done in black, white, blue, yellow, green, and metal beads. Both the collar and the hanging ornament have two rows of white beads lining the borders. The reverse of both sections are made from brown cloth with orange lines. |
