Description

Long handle, half wrapped with white, pink, black cord and yellow razor grass; red achiote rectilinear designs painted on white cord; yellow and black feathers at end of wrapping; notched stone head bound on with heavily waxed cord, additional wax at cord top. Used ceremonially in initiation rites; as axes until early 1950s.
