Description | Bronze Buddha with traces of gilding and green patina seated in virasana and in bhumisparsa mudra. Wars crown and ear plugs. The image's left side is unadorned with robes only. On the right arm bands, rings on fingers and toes are worn over the robes. Right shoulder bare with long flap over left shoulder falling below waist of lower garment and ending in a straight line. Top of finial on crown broken off and missing. Hollow base cast as one piece with image. Buddha in Jambhupati story. Probably 15th century. |
