Description

Rectangular. Flat lid, split in hald, with ridge along one long edge, projecting upward an inch. A thin strip of wood pegged and nailed near both shorter ends on underside. Box sides made of one piece kerfed and bent, ends pegged together at fourth corner. Bottom pegged on. T Decoration: layer of wood planed from corners on outside, top border of 5 horizontal grooves. Faint vertical grooving over entire surface. Black incrustation- (charring?). Two holes near top corners of both short sides; native cords attached. One corner mended with cord near top.
