Description | Finger piano (Timbila) having 12 bamboo keys. Keys are supported by two pieces of bamboo and one piece of bamboo atop keys. Keys are held in place by reed lashing through holes and around body of instrument. Wood panel serving as top is attached to wood base with ten small nails. Two diamond shaped decorations project from top of panel. Geometric decorations are carving into sides, base and projections. Writing on right side of body in red ink (part of word is not legible "Baboutte of Njele" "Cameroon" "Timfete"? |
