Description

Gilded ceramic votive table with image of standing Buddha in concentric archways. Figure stands on tiered base. Base and bottom section of of tablet slightly misshapen. Hands are crossed over the chest with right hand over left. Robes in open mode with right shoulder bare. Back side of tablet is covered with black lacquer and is not gilded. Ayutthata style, but contemporary. Gesture is one of forty poses for Buddha images introduced by Rama III.
