Description | Small length of piña (pineapple fiber) cloth with an uncut, embroidered pattern in cotton. Sheer, cream-colored, hemmed at one end. Pattern includes groups of alternating pairs of butterflies and delicate sprays of flowers and leaves, and a broad area of scattered butterflies. Butterfly wings feature lacework. Patterned areas outlined with cotton thread. Yellowed. Displayed at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis in 1904. |
