Description | Five pieces joined along one long side by knots of tapa. Natural color with patterned layer in the middle stamped with red and black zigzags. Woman’s garment (pa’u). Acquired by the United States Exploring Expedition (1838-1842) by Titian R. Peale. “Dress [garment] of ‘tapa,’ 1 vertical border, 1 broad, horizontal stripe.” on Peale list. Ka Hana Kapa #394.
