Description | Single fragment of fine, huge kyathos; has relief head and incised ornament - from the inner face of a high-flung handle attached at rim of cup. Bucchero, partially molded and tooled. Widest at base. Applied human head with incised hair set near base. Incised x's and pendants (?) above head, lines and zigzags on edges of both sides of handle. Fabric: Dark grey core, fine-grained. Smooth black surface. Condition: broken at top and bottom. Chipped left side. Technique: handmade. Head molded and applied. Burnished. |
