Parking

Please be advised, parking is extremely limited during weekdays.

Map of Parking Lots1. Lot 7 Parking Garage is adjacent to the Museum on Convention Ave. Lot 7 is most often full until around noon on weekdays. Special WEEKEND reduced rate parking is available in Lot 7 most, but not all, Saturdays and Sundays.

2. The Penn Tower Parking Garage, adjacent to the Museum has limited parking.

3. Lot 37 at 34th and Chestnut Streets is available Monday through Friday. Lot 37 is closed on weekends.

4. Other pay lots are in the vicinity and metered parking is available on some streets nearby.

A $5 flat rate will be charged to the public daily after 4 p.m. and on weekends in the following lots:

  • Lot 1 (Walnut St. between 32nd and 33rd Sts.)
  • Lot 16 (Eisenlohr Lot, SW corner 38th & Walnut Sts.)
  • Lot 19 (NE comer 34th & Chestnut Sts.)
  • Lot 23 (SW comer 38th & Sansom Sts.)
In partnership with Parkway Corporation, solar powered "Pay and Display" machines have been installed in these lots. The $5 daily rate, which is less expensive than street metered parking, provides an economical parking option for visitors to the University City area. Parkway Corporation will monitor the meters and enforce University rules and regulations in each location.

The meters will be in operation: Monday-Thursday 5 p.m.-5 a.m. and Friday 5 p.m.-Sunday 11 p.m. (except during special events).

University permit holders will not be affected by this initiative and will not lose the privilege of parking on these lots during non-peak hours. For questions about this new policy contact the Parking Office at: (215) 898-8667.

Campus Park and Ride
Campus Park and RideVisitors are encouraged to park at the Campus Park and Ride at 1600 South Warfield Street. Parking is FREE on weekends.

To Campus Park and Ride from 76-East From I-76 EAST: Take Exit 346B Grays Ferry Ave-University Ave. Stay left to turn LEFT at the light onto S 34th Street. Turn RIGHT at the second traffic light onto Wharton St. Go 100 feet and turn LEFT onto Warfield St. Proceed for 1/4 mile to entrance. Download the map pdf
