Penn Museum celebrates NBC 10 Day this Saturday, October 13, with a host of activities for the family! Visitors can meet several on-air personalities including Sheena Parveen and Keith Jones, and see the Museum's world-premiere exhibition MAYA 2012: Lords of Time. MAYA 2012 confronts the current fascination with the year 2012, comparing predictions of a world-transforming apocalypse with their supposed origins in the ancient Maya civilization.

The day's activities include seeing a conservator at work on Egyptian mummies and artifacts in the new installation In the Artifact Lab, the chance to explore the vast Museum's collections with a scavenger hunt, a docent-guided tour through the Central American Gallery, the opportunity to sit in on special end-of-time lectures, and more. Also, make sure to try the Pepper Mill Café for great Maya-inspired food and hit the Museum shops for jewelry, clothing, books, and all things Maya!
