Production Guidelines
The following guidelines apply to organizations and individuals interested in filming or videotaping at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (Penn Museum) for purposes other than personal use and/or when any impact on museum operations is anticipated.

Projects Considered
Penn Museum requires at least two week’s notice on requests to film or videotape in the Museum and on its premises.

Projects should be related or appropriate to the mission of the Penn Museum and/or the University of Pennsylvania and meet standards of academic accuracy where appropriate. Projects that promote a product or service or would interfere with the normal operation and visitor enjoyment of the Museum are not permitted.

Projects that require large or numerous pieces of equipment, electrical considerations, lighting, staging, or recording of scripted parts cannot be accommodated during operating hours without explicit written permission.

Projects requiring the alteration of the building, galleries, or grounds are not permitted.

Penn Museum and the University of Pennsylvania reserve the right to reject any request to film, videotape, or photograph the Museum and/or its facilities and grounds.

Logistics
During filming, videotaping, or photography sessions, a Penn Museum liaison will be present and will be permitted to terminate production immediately in the event the producer fails to abide by the conditions set forth in these guidelines.

Insurance
The production company will provide proof of insurance and will be responsible for any damages related to production work on Museum property, specifically holding the Museum and University harmless from any damages or claims.

Fees
The production company will cover all direct and indirect costs to the Museum associated with the project in addition to the location fee, which will be agreed upon in writing by both parties prior to the commencement of the project.

Credit
The “University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology” must be credited onscreen or in writing in the final production and/or publication. A complimentary copy of the finished product must be furnished to the Penn Museum prior to the release of the product.
