A one-hour "Highlights of the Galleries" audio tour, in English and Spanish, is now available at the Trescher and Warden Garden Entrances. The audio tour guides visitors through the Museum’s 16 long-term galleries highlighting 29 objects of special interest selected by Museum curators. Complete with an introduction by Williams Director Richard Hodges, the audio tour offers commentary on some of the Museum’s most remarkable objects, from the third largest sphinx in the world to the iconic, bull-headed lyre from Ur.
We provide guided gallery tours for an enhanced museum experience to a wide range of groups, from kindergarten classes to retirement communities. In 2008–2009, our 60 highly trained volunteer docents led over 33,000 people on 1,200 tours through our galleries.
Docent-led tours are available for educators, community groups, and the general public. Docents provide an opportunity for your group to make cross cultural connections within the galleries.
