Humans have been making things for millennia—for function, fun, or a blend of both. Handmade History Workshops are an exciting way to learn about our shared past through hands-on DIY projects at the Museum. Visitors may choose a 2-hour afternoon timeslot during their Museum visit to learn how to make their own history-inspired craft and hear more about the way humans crafted in the ancient past. Begin crafting onsite, then take your piece and any materials needed to finish home with you.

Explore culture through making! Paint a terra cotta pot using the black silhouetting techniques found on ancient Greek vases. Learn about the history of Greek pottery and the stories told by ancient Greek painters. Plant a signature herb of Greece in your pot when you are finished. Designed for adults or families with older children.
