Description | Hair band. Red wool with purple, magenta, orange, and green silk ends. Silk tassels. Designs of flowers and birds. Some carpet beetle damage on wool. Worn in Santiago Atitlan. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 22 epi, single ply, Z twist, three strands, white cotton. Weft red: 44 ppi, single ply, Z twist, 3/3 weft faced. Weft orange, green, purple: 13-26 ppi, single ply, Z twist, multistrand. Tapestry, weft faced, slit and oblique techniques. Woven on a treadle loom." |
