Description | Natural brown cotton with white pin-stripes. Heavily brocaded with cotton, silk, and wool threads. Geometricized birds, chevrons, flowers, and zig-zag multicolored patterns prevail. Hupil made of two breadths of material. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 46 epi, 2 singles, Z twist, natural brown hand spun cotton. Weft: 24 ppi, 2 singles, Z twist, natural brown hand spun cotton. Balanced plain weave. Supplemental weft: single faced and two faced. 2 panels - 4 selvedges each. Made on a backstrap loom." |
