Description | Flake which may have been used as a scraper or knife. Brown stone. During the process of making a stone tool flakes are detached from a stone core. This flake might have been coincidentally created during the making of another stone tool or it may have been intentionally created for use as a cutting tool without further retouching. There are irregular chips along the cutting edges which may indicate use. This type of tool has definate similarities to examples identified as of the Paleolithic period although their production is linked to the flaked stone tool technology which may have continued even into the Yayoi period. |
