Description | Heavy red plain weave cotton. Back has white and red central stripe with black stripes on outer edges. Front has cotton and silk brocaded geometric forms covering centtral stripe area. Main colors: light green, purple, deep blue, orange and red. Narrows at each end with tassels. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 200 epi, two ply, red, white and indigo cotton. Weft: 16 ppi, Z twist, multistrand white cotton. Warp faced plain weave. Supplementary weft is single faced. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
