Description | Uncut. White cotton plain weave. Two breadths. The main panel is brocaded in cotton and wool thread in chevrons, zigzags, diamonds and triangles. Side panels have less decoration. Red is the predominant color. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 38 epi, single ply, Z twist, one strand, white cotton. Weft: single ply, Z twist, two and four strand, white cotton. Balanced plain weave, heavy stripes alternate with light stripes. Three panels, four selvedges. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
