Description | Uncut, Ixcaco cloth huipil in three panels. Brown, plain weave cotton cloth. Brocaded with horizontal bands of stylized animals and geometric forms. Main colors are white, gold, green, pink and lavender in silk and cotton thread. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 28 epi, two singles Z twist, brown cotton. Weft: 22 ppi, three singles, Z twist, brown cotton. Balanced plain weave. Supplementary weft is two faced. Three panels, four selvedges each. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
