Description | Blade (石匙). Oval shaped blade with stem. Bifacially retouched. Light colored stone. 13160 might fall in the category of bifacially chipped adze-type tools. However, it is unlike the other bifacially chipped adzes in this collection as it is quite thin especially for its large size. It is also more finely worked and has a narrow stem. It does not appear to have any prototypes in the Late Paleolithic and is most likely to have been the product of Jomon or Yayoi cultures. |
