Description | Cylindrical basket with slightly expanding sides and an inverted bottom. Decorated with two bands of false embroidery in elongated "butterfly" patterns in white and black. Old, damaged around the rim. Technical notes: twined, close twined, two-strand, in-between weave (with plain), three-strand, wrapped weft ("false embroidery"). Top: 21 warps, 26 wefts per square inch. Bottom: 23 warps, 28 wefts per square inch. Bottom in-between. |
