Description | Flat base, neck modified by head, two small hoops or luge on body, legs of figures molded in low relief. Painted red and cream Face-neck vessel. Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a globular body, effigy-anthropomorphic neck, missing rim, 2 lug handles on the body, and a flat base. The vessel is in the shape of a human with painted decoration. The face on the neck is topped with a hat that sticks out on both sides. The features on the head and body are delineated with white, blue, red, and black paint. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads:"664." |
