Description

Votive hand towel (Hônô tenugui). Light blue and tan patterned background. Blue characters. Japanese characters say 1-chrome, edoborikita, Osaka (address); Rihachi Takai (name); Otokuihanei. Label reads: "Chapel containing the Indo-no-kane, or Bell of Leading, which is rung in order that the Saint-Prince may conduct the dead into Paradise. Osaka."
