Rim sherd from a deep pot (深鉢). Cord marking has been smoothed over. Thin. Circular hole. Gray to black. While cord marking was especially characteristic of the Early Jomon pottery types it also continued in later Jomon period. Thus it is difficult to attribute this sherd to the Early Jomon Period.
