Description | Cooking pot with encircling band of relief on shoulder, zigzag with dots in the angles. Two vertical loop handles on shoulders Cooking pot (olla) with a squat-globular body, no neck/collar, rounded rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a rounded base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel is orange slipped and has a band of raised dots and lines. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is buff in color. Evidence of usewear includes residue on the interior and staining. There is a resinous accretion on the exterior of the body. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "2865f." |
