Description

In three pieces, sides and bottom white, center except bottom red, brocaded design of goose like birds and small women [paper dolls] in purple, yellow, green, orange, white and cerise wool cotton and silk, appliqued red cloth neck border and U shaped bib, red cotton thread -madder dye [ Robert Carlsen 1984].

As per Sigrid Meier, "Center Panel: Warp: 18 epi, 2 singles, Z twist, white cotton. Weft: 52 ppi, 3 singles, Z twist, white cotton. Weft faced plain weave. Supplemental weft - two faced. Side Panels: Warp: 68 epi, 2 singles, Z twist, white cotton. Weft: 27 ppi, 3 singles, Z twist, white cotton. Warp faced plain weave. Supplemental weft - single faced. 3 panels - center panel - 3 selvedges, side panels - 4 selvedges (1 panel pieced). Made on a backstrap loom."
