Description | Huipil of two pieces with slight randa. Neck cut out and hemmed. Red cotton ground with compound stripes of yellow, green and white. Rows of bars in zigzag arrangement and small animals and birds in V's brocaded in yellow and dark green cotton and blue, emerald green and purple silk. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 54 epi, two singles, Z twist, red white yellow and green cotton. Weft: 18 ppi, two singles, Z twist. Warp faced plain weave. Supplementary weft is single faced. Two panels, three selvedges each. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
