Description | Miniature of old style huipil. Cotton, white warp face, one panel. X 3 bands of brocade geometric motif, minor band at shoulder, small dots elsewhere. The 3 bands are normal size. A panel one of two forming the huipil would be approximately. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp 48 epi, 3 ply, white cotton. Weft: 24 ppi, 3 ply, white cotton. Warp plain weave. Supplemental weave - single faced. 1 panel, 4 selvedge. Made on a backstrap loom." |
