Description | Cotton cloth with red warp and weft alternating white and blue stripes. Supplementary weft embroidery in geometric bands. Knotted tasseled fringe. May be Dept of Escuintla, Palin; Pocoman Central. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 44 epi, single, Z twist, white cotton ground. Warp selvedges: 32 ppi, five singles, Z twist, blue/red cotton. 40 epi, two singles, Z twist, red cotton. Weft: 20 ppi, single, white cotton. Two singles, Z twist, red, blue/red cotton. Supplementary weft is two faced. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
