Description | Wooden box for storing huia feathers and small ornaments. Bottom of box with a human figure carved in relief at each end, the heads serving as handles. Rest of bottom covered with rauponga pattern (dog-tooth notches inside parallel grooves and ridges). Red paint in lines of notches. Written inside: GBG [George Byron Gordon] and the numeral 26 [Gordon number]. |
