Description | This very long textile is considered a "tapestry shroud" for the mummy. Mentioned in length in Vanstan's book, this textile is incomplete. Comprised of four webs that are roughly 18-19 cm wide. These webs are attached along the warpwise selvages with saddler's stitches. Mentioned in Ina Vanstan’s book “Textiles from Beneath the Temple of Pachacamac, Peru”, p. 43. (1967). Fig.43. Figure is a "reconstruction" of the entire shroud. Color(s): Predominately a dark vibrant rose, red, off-white, medium and dark blues, tan and yellow. Repeated figure with crown. Some of the blue is so intense that it looks black. |
