Description

Huipil in the old style, very good. Lower part is of white cotton. Upper part has white warps, wefts old rose (faded red), woven bands in red cotton and yellow, purple, lavender, red, pink, pale blue and green silk in designs of animals, birds and zigzags. Pink wool, black silk.

As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 44 epi, single, Z twist, white cotton. Weft: 32 ppi, two singles. Z twist, white cotton. Plain weave. Supplementary weft is single faced and two faced. Two panels, four selvedges each. Woven on a backstrap loom."
