View of pyramids from the air.
[0:10-5:06] Rebuilding and consolidating Temple I, Oct. 1962 (some in 1964):
Luis Sandoval and Enrique Montorosso with Alfonso Mora directing and handling transit. Casting ropes from top Temple I and tying them in, descending the side of pyramid and locating guide points at base; setting guide pins and clearing debris; workman on scaffolds with some work at NW corner and SW corner, upper Temple doorway,
And consolidated roof comb and picture of completed Temple I.
Pictures of Temples before restoration (possibly “before” shots of Temple I); Man climbing a pyramid with the help of a rope.
[6:29-7:32] The galeros or lime kiln, October 1962, structure of limestone and wood. Ready to start burning overnight. Small pile of burnt lime next morning, removing clothes from washline, hung at lime kiln, rain coming.
[7:38-12:28] Quarry Sequence Sept/Oct. 1962; the following men at work: Pancho '(Francisco Avila) Santiago Cifuentes, Jacinto Cifuentes, Manuel Santiago, Cruz Valdeson, Miguel Aguilar, Selim Goff (negro), etc. General view of quarry with completed stones,, solid quarry area., axes cutting grooves & saws cutting to size. Closer views, of chopping out large limestone blocks; note wide grooves (Maya quarries are narrow)') also note dust and chips, saved for making mortar close ups of saving down from, large to small building blocks (still fairly large sized); laying out for diagonal cuts (not all square blocks); finished blocks for rebuilding pyramids.
[12:34-13:31] Ancient Maya Quarry, Oct. 1962: Alfonso Mora and Rafael Morales at newly discovered indications of an ancient quarry (Mayan), before it is cleared and made visible! 23 Oct. 1962, after clearing, viewed by Tono Ortiz» his daughter Annabella (6) & son Aureo Lucia & Travis Freeman; note narrow grooves, probably made by means of flint scrapers.
[13:38-15:40] The Ventilator Job for Burial 116, Temple I, October 1962. Aubrey Trik, at the entrance to Temple I tunnel leading to burial 116. Transit work by Aubrey Trik and Alfonse Morra to locate correct position for ventilator, checking motor and installing blower, Luis Jiminez as laborer checking the completed job.
