Description

Off white cotton huipil in three panels with brocading. Neck is not slit. Seams sewn at the sides. Brocade is primarily in red thread with green, blue, purple, pink, and orange. Designs are of alternating rows of diamonds and stylized flowers. Neckline and armholes are lined with borders of triangles and diamonds.

As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 36 epi, two singles, Z twist, white cotton. Weft: 20 ppi, two singles, Z twist, white cotton. Warp is predominantly plain weave. Supplementary weft is two faced. Three panels, four selvedges each. Woven on a backstrap loom."
