Description | Small jug with upturned spout and one coil handle. Ridge at junction between neck and shoulder. Fabric: Fine, pink (7.5YR 8/4) clay with decoration in light red (2.5YR 6/6) to dark reddish brown (2.5YR 3/4) paint. Self-slipped. Decoration: Three sets of small vertical clay strips applied to shoulder zone, one set below spout and one on each side. Interior and rim unpainted. Handle painted on outside only. Broad bands on mouth, shoulder, lower part of body, and just above resting surface; frieze of "grass or reed" (FM 16) on body zone. Resting surface unpainted. Condition: Intact, with minor chipping. Handle and mouth damaged. |
