Description | Tube of very thin gold (?), closed at both ends. Wider end (facing forwards when worn) is a raised rosette decorated with a red stone in the center, surrounded by a circle of six smaller grey/white stones and incised concentric circles. Rattles when moved: probably filled with the same brittle black substance (hardened resin?), now broken into fragments, as 70-17-1A. Somewhat dented and misshapen. Worn by young girls performing legong, a traditional form of royal court dance. |
