Description | Tribute table made of four wooden boards held together. It has a black background with gold and red inscriptions and a red painted back. See also 29-96-765A,B for the antithetical couplets on long wooden boards that go with this piece. The inscriptions read: 中天雲錦 (Zhong tian yun mian), 光緒壬辰穀旦 (Guangxu renchen gu dan), 柔佛國 (Roufo guo). Translated as: A brocade of clouds in the midst of the heavens, 1892, in the reign of the [Qing emperor] Guangxu, Sultanate of Johor. |
