Description | Fine loose weave, painted in style suggesting tie-dye; light bands with brown spots and greenish leaf-shaped figures. Tapestry middle band with figures having pile knot tails. Tapestry border. Fragment of a poncho, but still has one arm/sleeve and neck aperture left, so the structure can be identified. The body of the poncho is done in a loose weave/crepe type construction and painted in a geometric ("dots") design. The middle panel and bottom border are tapestries. The bottom border has fringe. Color(s): Painted crepe section in green, brown and tan. Tapestry sections in green, brown, blue and dark brown, and white. |
