Description

Huipil of three equal pieces joined vertically. Center panel is red and side panels are white. Brocaded in red, white, yellow and green. Designs include horizontal zigzags, conventional trees and birds.

As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp center panel: 44 epi, single ply, Z twist, red cotton. Weft center panel: 44 ppi, single ply, Z twist, red cotton. Warp side panels: 34 epi, single ply, Z twist, white cotton. Weft side panels: 40 ppi, single ply, Z twist, white cotton. Balanced plain weave. Supplementary weft is two faced. Three panels, four selvedges each. Woven on a backstrap loom."
