Description

Round, wooden Katsina doll. The face is painted white with red circles below the eyes. The chin has multicolored lines radiating down from around the mouth. An elaborate, stepped, tableta headdress is attached to the head painted white, blue, yellow and red. The body is painted with white and black feathers arranged vertically. This figure is a male Salako (Salako Taka) Katsina. (Colton, H. 1959 #117, Wright, B., 1973 #248)
