Description | Kanoon. Wooden, right-angled trapezoid. Reddish brown on sides and painted black on top. 25 sets of 3 strings tied through holes at rectangular end. Moveable bridge of light wood and permanent bridge separating pegs from sound-board. 3 carved circular, 1 carved tear-shaped sound holes. 2 round holes in longest side. Rectangular end in 4 compartments, covered with skin. Pointed wooden pegs of different shapes and sizes. Poor condition. Skin split and loose. Long side not well joined to sound board. Most strings missing or broken. 19 pegs missing. Length, long side: 93 cm. Length slated side: 83 cm. Width: 40.5 cm. Height: 5 cm. |
