Description

Santir. trapezoidal, wooden dulcimer painted red on sides with scene of dancers, musicians and on-lookers on top side - background is mostly red and whitish, people are blue, red and whitish. Instrument is brown. 26 leafed "spirals" cut into soundboard. 18 rows of 4 metal strings stretched between short metal prongs at one end and to metal pegs at the other. Round hole in center of long side. Small round moveable bridges for individual strings. 2 picks should be included. Poor condition - crack in soundboard, bottom of instrument is loose, metal bars on bridges are loose as are some inside pieces. 1 of the 11 bridges present is fragmented. 1 pick is missing the other is broken. 2 pegs are missing, many strings are detached.

Height: 62cm, length of longest side: 50.5cm. Length of shorter side: 31.5cm. Length of ends: 38cm. Width of soundboard: 28cm.
