Description

Very light colored fine grained wood. Cylindrical in shape with narrowing, open three pronged bottom. Decorated with crude geometric designs in thin black paint outlines with yellowish-brown wash used to fill in some areas. Two areas of decoration: 1) a series of vertical panels with notched bases arranged around to part, extending to just above narrowing point (about halfway down); 2) three panels and the spaces between them starting just above prongs with circumferential line and extending to ends of prongs. Edges of drum bordered in black. Drumhead is rather loose fitting animal skin with traces of hair remaining. Attached to drum with raffia.
