Description | Double-edged iron blade tapering to blunt point; each edge contracted twice to form three nearly equal sections; slight tang at each corner of base, behind which the horizontal edge of the blade is serrated as are the sides of the "stem" which is divided by two long piercings, also with serrated edges. Wide double groove on opposite sides of the two faces of the blade for the two distal sections. Lengthwise piercing with serrated edges in each of the two proximal sections. Ornamental bands of hatching and parallel lines. Flat wooden grip wrapped with strip of brass, expanding to flat-topped circular pommel studded with brass-headed tacks. |
