Description | Straight-sided iron blade, tapering at tip, with wooden pommel attached to blade with bronze hilt and wrapped with leather strips. Hilt is cross shaped with shorter arms extending up blade and down into pommel. Longer arms are perpendicular to the blade and are splayed at the ends. Base of pommel is an oval wooden disc, partially covered with leather. Sword blade is decorated with etched inscription (?Arabic?) extending approximately half way up the blade. |
