Description

The interior is unglazed, with spiral wheel-marks. One would expect a base on the exterior but instead the surface is smoothly rounded and a broad petal painted in red with a line following its outline occupies the potential base area. Whence the suggestion that this piece is from the side of a pilgrim flask. The rest of the exterior is reserved and polished. Pinkish buff clay.
