Description | Statuette: Aphrodite Anadyomene. Dark green to brown patina with white line incrustations. Left arm is broken. Nude Aphrodite wrings water from her hair with right hand. Left arm appears to have been lowered. her left leg is bent. Waist is very high and thin, legs are too short in proportion to the rest of body. Incised hair, parted in the middle at the back, hangs in curls on her shoulder blades. Wears diadem. Punched dots indicate nipples and navel. |
