Technique Basketry
Description

Separate square-bottom of open erect twillwork. Inserted into base of bamboo attached with malay knots. Square-sided basket of erect stakes with 3 horizontal bands of wrapped work. Reenforced at mid-point with inner hoop of bamboo. Shoulder and lip reenforced with 8-strand braidwork. Top bamboo hoop covered with wrapped and braided work surmounted with bamboo split held with malay knots forming lip. Basket lid of oblique twillwork on bamboo hoop with Malay knots. Fits over body's "lip".
